Profile
About Me I am Zhepeng Zhang, a Professor at the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB). Before joining USTB, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the National University of Singapore, Stanford University, and the Institute for Basic Science in South Korea. I received my Ph.D. from Peking University. My research centers on the controlled synthesis and epitaxy of emerging semiconductor materials, particularly two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors and their heterostructures. I am interested in understanding and controlling how materials grow, from atomic-scale processes to wafer-scale synthesis. My work draws on a range of vapor-phase growth techniques, including metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD), hybrid MOCVD (Hy-MOCVD), and vapor–liquid–solid CVD (VLS-CVD). I am also exploring how artificial intelligence can accelerate materials synthesis and enable more efficient, data-driven experimentation. I welcome collaborations and discussions in these areas.
