Yujie Qiang, Associate Professor at the University of Science and Technology Beijing, Visiting Scholar at the National University of Singapore, and Master's Advisor, has been listed for five consecutive years on the Stanford University Global Top 2% Scientists List since the age of 28 (currently ranked in the top 0.5‰ globally in the field of Chemical Physics). He has been honored with numerous prestigious awards such as the Youth Talent Lift Engineering by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Young Scientist Publishing Project for Advanced Materials, the Youth Talent Lift Project of the Beijing Association for Science and Technology, and the International Youth Talent Award of Zhejiang Laboratory. He has been recognized as a "Beijing Model," "Beijing Youth Model," and as one of the "Annual Rising Stars in Science and Technology" by Scientific Chinese (one of only 20 recipients nationwide).
Yujie serves as a member of several academic committees, including the Inhibitor and Corrosion Electrochemistry Committees of the Chinese Society for Corrosion and Protection, the Construction Engineering Committee, and the Coating Standards Committee of the China Materials and Testing Standards Committee. He is also a corrosion expert in the Water Treatment Expert Database of the Chemical Industry and a board member of the Beijing Society for Corrosion and Protection. Yujie serves as a member of the editorial boards and youth editorial boards for 16 high-impact academic journals, including Energy & Environmental Materials (IF: 13.0, Q2 in CAS), Nano Materials Science (IF: 12.6, Q2 in CAS), and Rare Metals (IF: 9.6, Q1 in CAS), as well as the Journal of Chinese Corrosion and Protection and Coatings Industry.
His research focuses on corrosion inhibitors in battery electrolytes, green corrosion-resistant antibacterial films, and novel functional protective materials. He has led 19 key projects funded by organizations such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the Ministry of Education, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec), and China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. He has also participated in major national research and development projects and national major scientific infrastructure programs. He has published over 100 SCI-indexed papers, with 62 as the first or corresponding author (41 of which are Q1 in CAS). His work has been cited over 9,000 times, with the highest single paper receiving over 600 citations, 31 papers cited over 100 times, and an H-index of 47. He has published 18 ESI Highly Cited Papers and 4 ESI Hot Papers. Yujie has co-authored three book chapters and holds 15 national patents.
He has been awarded several prestigious honors, including the Science and Technology Award from the Chinese Society for Corrosion and Protection, the Innovation Award from the Chinese Invention Association, the Science and Technology Award from the China Surface Engineering Association, the "China's 100 Most Influential International Academic Papers" award (2021), the Outstanding Young Scientist Paper Award of Beijing, the Special Prize of the JMST Outstanding Paper Award, the Adamas Academic Paper Award, and the Excellent PhD Dissertation Award of Chongqing. His research has played a key role in supporting the large-scale application of new corrosion inhibitors and protective coatings in major engineering projects such as oil and gas equipment, coastal facilities, marine ranching, and high-speed rail. His achievements have been covered by various media platforms, including China Science and Technology Information, China Education TV, Beijing Radio, Beijing Youth Daily, Xuexi Qiangguo, Today’s Headlines, The Paper, and Sohu. His work has been featured as a typical case of university research breakthroughs on China Education TV CETV1 in the documentary Crossing celebrating the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and on the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League's "Youth University Studies" (Issue 20 of 2023).
