Dr. Khan is an accompolished Associate Professor of Geophysics with over 6 years of teaching and 10+ years of research experience in academia. He is an expert in the application of advanced geophysical techniques including seismic, gravity, electrical, and electromagnetic methods for both near-surface and deep-earth investigations. Dr. Khan has led multiple research projects as Principal Investigator (PI) at national, international, and provincial/ministerial levels (NSFC, BJNSF, MOST etc). He has published over 60 articles in renwoned SCI journals and conferences with citations reaching a1000. Dr. Khan has demonstrated a strong commitment to teaching and research throughout his career. He has taught and designed key courses and curricula in geophysics and geology, earning high student feedback scores.
Dr. Khan has supervised numerous Bachelor and Master theses and co-supervised doctoral research projects, producing young talents. He obtained several important awards and honors including Award of Appreciation for Science and Technology Cooperation between China and Pakistan, Excellent International Postdoctoral Scholar and so on. As an executive member of Pakistan Embassy, he played an important role in initiating cooperations between China and Pakistan by establishing more than 2 ''Belt and Road Joint Laboratories'' and several Joint cooperation on education, science and technology. He holds several professional titles including Senior Vice Chairman, Belt and Road Initiative for Sustainable Development (BRISD). He is the Editor, and Reviewer of several SCI journals, member of renowned professional socieities in geosciences (EGU, SEG, AGU etc).
His contributions to China's Science and Technology have been presented on various media outlets including CCTV, CGTN, CECN, China Daily, Xinhua News etc. Dr. Khan holds Chinese Green Card (Permananat Residence).
His research interest broadly include:
(1) Marine geophysics and geology, Tectonics of active and passive contiental margins, Foreland Basins, Basin analysis, Subsurface structures and Hydrocarbons characterization
(2) Predicting geological disasters, geo-failures, and deformations in underground engineering including mining, geotechnical, and civil
(3) Quantitative and qualitative modeling of undergroundwater systems
